Welcome in Festival delle Passioni
Food and music share one thing: they can be the objects of insatiable PASSIONS. Desires that involve at different levels all those who participate to a special event. In Mantova, food and music can go together well, involving different communities of lovers in order to create opportunities of sharing an experience of enjoyment.
The town, with its piazzas, is transformed into an emotional setting where music is played and food, with all its flavours, is the engine that makes people get together to try new levels of enjoyment.
From this idea the FESTIVAL DELLE PASSIONI is born; four days of music and culinary performances around five main themes, or FIVE PASSIONS: SPICY, MEAT, ICE, FRIED AND BUBBLES.
These five obsessions are presented in an original and innovative format so that many different “lovers” can be involved joining the various activities and the events, in a mix of tasty combinations.
FESTIVAL DELLE PASSIONI, as a modern remake of the folk feasts of our popular tradition, recovers ancient flavours through contemporary art forms: experiments and combinations are present in all performances, from tasty concerts to jazz or pop music tastings.
Just like food, music retains its quality in the possibility to fuse different ingredients together: music and cuisine need not only alchemies of recognized value, but also that special something able to mixing together, exalting and increasing, that energy called PASSION.
By carefully exploring the sense of taste, the Festival features a musical menu made of tastings and elaborated dishes, mixing different genders and choosing elements either in harmonic or dissonant combinations. This is meant to arouse and stimulate people curiosity towards new sounds, new flavours and new know-how.
FIVE THEMES SECTIONS related to five sensory/musical contexts which identify the love for Italian food, with its human passions and feelings.
